Spend a week in the beautiful Sorata Valley, working with students and family members at the Internado Student Residence which gives young people from distant villages access to secondary education. Share your interests and skills; learn new insights. See agricultural projects of Quaker Bolivia Link www.qbl.org and meet Bolivian Quaker Education Fund scholars www.bqef.org. Read one student’s story here. Then enjoy La Paz, the world’s highest capital city, and talk with indigenous leaders who are working to end the social exclusion of the indigenous majority and relieve extreme rural poverty. See pre-Inca Tiwanaku and stay at Lake Titikaka to hike to Inca ruins on the Island of the Sun.
Pre-trip Medical Option-July 6-13 Help Bolivian medical team in rural villages, visit children’s hospital, etc.
Extend your stay July 28-August 2 to Peru, Machu Picchu, or stay on in Bolivia with homestay to volunteer in a Quaker school or adult English classes, or study Spanish, or see other wonders of Bolivia. |
